OVERVIEW: 

Our 200-hour Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training is designed for all levels of yogis, and especially for those who are beginners to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and want to experience the fundamentals of this ancient system. 

This course will give you a strong foundation and knowledge around building your self practice, but also the skills, tools and confidence to teach others. You will deepen your own practice and be able to continue on your personal yogic journey with a solid ground. We strongly believe in the significance of your own journey of discovery and experience your unique personal voice and style as a yoga teacher.

This course is based not only on asanas, but also on the other limbs of Ashtanga Yoga. You will study and practice Yamas, Niyamas, Pranayama techniques, meditation and mindfulness. You will learn Indian philosophy, yogic lifestyle, anatomy, alignment and hands-on adjustments of the asanas, sequencing and teaching methodology. You will teach your fellow students, give and receive constructive feedback from day one. You will enlighten body, spirit and mind. 

By the end of the course you will know how to practice the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series by your self, teach classes based on the Primary Sequence, and also create your own Vinyasa sequences. 

You will also experience other styles of asana practice in the afternoon classes, like yin and restorative yoga, in order to experience other yoga traditions/ styles. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of our 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training you will:

  • Learn the Ashtanga Primary Series 
  • Practice a broad range of yoga asanas.
  • Learn the proper alignment of 60 postures. 
  • Explore the modifications (using props) and variations of the most common yoga asanas.
  • Learn and practice on your fellow students the art of hands-on-adjustments.
  • Yoga anatomy: understand the basic concepts of functional anatomy applied to yoga practice.
  • Learn how to avoid common injuries during practice
  • Experience and practice different pranayama and meditation techniques. Benefits of each pranayama technique

  • Kriya yoga 
  • Mudras, bandhas and their benefits 
  • Yoga philosophy and Ayurveda 
  • Observe the main teacher 
  • Be able to teach a 45-minute class to a 90-minute long class

CERTIFICATION

You will receive a 200-hour certification eligible to register with Yoga Alliance. Registration with our yoga school meets the standards set by Yoga Alliance which provides a globally recognized credential.

COURSE DETAILS: 

Our teacher training, is a combination of years of practicing, learning, gaining knowledge and experience through teaching in other yoga teacher trainings. All this, concentrated in one transformational life-time experience under the supervision of three experienced and passionate teachers. Students are expected to be committed to this educational program and to realize that this is not a yoga retreat or yoga holiday. 

Our Yoga Teacher Training program is a practical training course designed to help you become a confident and effective Yoga teacher for all level of students. By the end of the course you will be able to teach mixed-level open yoga class confidently. Since we offer you a practical approach, there will be lots of opportunities for you to teach. From day one, you will start teaching one-on-one and then progress to teaching larger groups towards the end of the course.

Morning asana classes

Our asana curriculum is equally split between Ashtanga and Vinyasa, meaning that you will practice three Ashtanga and three Vinyasa classes per week. The Ashtanga classes will progress gradually, while the Vinyasa classes will usually include pranayama, warm-up, sun salutations + variations, basic, medium difficulty and advanced yoga postures, postural alignment, deep relaxation techniques, shavasana and chanting. 

Teaching Methodology 

During this module, you will learn essential sequencing principles in order to create your own Vinyasa Flow classes. We will look at the difference between sequencing for more experienced students and working with beginners. There will be lots of practical teaching, planning, guidance and feedback on how to improve and enhance these skills.

You will also learn how to demonstrate asanas, (reasons to demo, when, why, how), how to hold the seat of a teacher and the energy of the class, how to project your voice, how to modify asanas, how to work with an open level class and how to give verbal instructions. You will observe, teach and receive constructive feedback from your fellow students and teachers.

Evia Silence retreat center is located on Evia island, just 2,5 hours drive from Athens International Airport. It consists of ten rooms, all of them having private balcony overlooking the bay. The beach is just 50 meters from the retreat center where you can swim in crystal clear sea and soak up on all that crucial vitamin D. The retreat center has a beautiful yoga shala overlooking the Porto Buffalo Bay and the yachts. Within a ten minute walk, you can find local tavernas serving healthy delicious Mediterranean cuisine using fresh local produce.

  • Prices are in euros in cash.
  • 150 Euros early bird discount if booked until end of February 2019 
  • All packages include tuition fee, manual, all breakfasts, dinners, after-noon snacks, tea and free water.
  • Check in: 2:00pm onwards on the day that the course starts.
  • Check out: 11:00am the day that the course finishes.
  • Welcome meetings are generally held between 4 – 5 pm on the day that the course starts, followed by asana class and welcome dinner at 7.00 pm.
  • The initial deposit of 400 Euros is strictly non cancellable, non refundable and non transferable in any case.
  • If the full course fee is already paid then refund of the course fee (minus 400 Euros booking amount and any transaction charges) is possible only if you cancel/change the  booking minimum three months in advance.
  • Evia Silence will provide the accommodation as allocated to the student but it reserves the right to make any changes if needed due to unforeseen circumstances.
    • Group transportation from the airport or Athens center can be arranged

Send an email to vladescu@icloud.com and we will send you the application form. We will process your application within one day and let you know if you are accepted for the course.

If you are accepted on the course you requested, we will email you a confirmation. You will be required to deposit a booking amount of € 400 Euros via PayPal to confirm your place.  All transaction charges must be covered by the applicant. If PayPal does not work for you, then please ask us for other payment options. Your place on the course will be confirmed only upon receipt of the booking amount.

Balance course fee is to be paid in cash upon your arrival. All transaction charges to be paid by the applicant if he/she decides to pay everything online.
